Paint

We're in the middle of the long involved process of selecting paint colours. It tends to involve a little compromise on both our parts because I'm quite adventurous and the boy is fairly conservative, but cautiously willing to trust me. We've done some sample swatches on the side of the house that were a little too vibrant ... back to the drawing board, I've picked out some 'compromise colours' that pretty much meet in the middle. I'm thinking that I might get some more sample pots and make the external walls at Toxteth that much more colourful!

The final selection ... I think! The three colours on the right will be external colours. I'm certain I want to paint most of the inside of the house Maleny Mist, but I can't decide if I want to use either of the two left hand colours as trim or just go quarter strength Maleny Mist. I've very excited because the boy has agreed to let me paint the foyer in Cracked Slate (the dark purply-charcoal colour) with light trims. I can just imagine how much drama this will create as you step into the house.



I always wondered who's job it was to come up with paint names.





This is the original selection, the light green involved a high caroma yellow base tint, which resulted in a lovely vibrant colour, but not for the majority of a heritage property ... I like to be different, not radioactive!
