Can I temporarily substitute with some samples of our weekend warrior activities?
Removing the superfluous TV antenna in high winds and rain. The discarded antenna lies on my freshly hoed temporary vege garden. I'm busily trying to sort out how many of which vegetables we want, when they should go in, where they should be planted for best crop rotation results, how much space each variety needs, what's the best green manure, companion planting ... there's SO MUCH to think about! We also spent the first half of this morning in a fruitless search for some manure ... any manure. I'm forced to believe manure's not in season at the moment.

Glorious fresh undercoat ... it looks better already, but I (like Madeleine) still can't wait for the colour.
I made a start on a home for our girls. I hope our happy chickens will lay many eggs inside when it's finished. In case you're wondering, that's not quite the colour ... too green and fluorescent ... my sister in law said tutti-fruity, I agree.

Just one small part of the complex, fiddly, irritating and just generally more time consuming than expected process of removing the verandah rails. They were too low, but they were original. I would have been unable to live at Toxteth if anyone had fallen off. The boy was unwilling to part with an original feature. The compromise involves removing the broomsticks, retaining the rails, replacing the broomsticks with the rails repositioned at the required height. So much easier said than done!
