The whole process is actually a fair bit more involved that I first thought. The first stage is called throwing. This basically involves centering your piece of clay on the wheel and then slowly coaxing a pot shape out of it. Then you let it dry out a little until the pot is firm but still malleable (leatherwear) in preparation for the second stage called turning. This involves centering your pot upside down on the wheel again and cutting a little foot into the base your pot. Then you let the pot dry out completely in preparation for it's first firing. Once it's been fired the first time it's ready to decorate with glazes etc. and once that's done it gets fired for the final time! Phew ...
So here's where I'm up to.

These ones have been turned and are ready to be dried for their first firing.

This one has been glazed and is ready to be fired. I'll let you guess what colours it will be when it comes out!

The lovely Penny, with pot!

WOW! I just found you and I am amazed. One day I will have to post my befor pics. It has been 14 years and I am still working on my home, that was once a drugstore. I commend you for what you are doing and I am happy to watch the progress unfold. HEidi
Hi Anna
I hope you dont mind, but you have been tagged! I would love to hear 6 interesting things about you then its your turn to pick 6 other blogs and ask them for 6 interesting things about them.
I also wanted to mention I have been trying to make comments on your blog for quite a while but the cryptic password does not load from my end. The wallpaper post you did I love because I also wanted to do a wallpaper splashback. I just hope I can load this message...
