OTT

I guess I've finally realised that this whole process may take longer than I first expected if I want everything exactly the way I'm imagining. For example ...

I love love love the charcoal metalic glaze on this tea set. So my latest scheme is to do a pottery class so that I can make my own vanity basins. Until someone tells me it won't work, the main bathroom will feature gold wallpaper backed glass splashbacks, a full height natural linen and shimmery raw silk shower curtain and of course, my charcoal metalic glazed vanity basin. Nothing difficult!

Glazed basins can be done! Have a look at the basin my Dad put in at our cellar door.

Penny my pottery teacher seems a little dubious about the whole metallic glaze thing. She seems to think that the glazes to achieve this kind of effect are highly poisonous and difficult to work with (damn it). I haven't shown her this photo yet, so who knows. I'll find a way!
