Six interesting things about me
1. I have an obsessive need to collect magazines. Once I find a title that I like I return to the newsagent like some kind of junkie to get my monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly fix. Some favourite titles at the moment: Dumbo feather, pass it on, InsideOut, Vogue Living, Donna Hay, pol oxygen, australian home beautiful, country style, IdN
2. My childhood was almost nomadic. My Dad had a habit of picking jobs that required moving from one end of the state to the other. So ... I was born in Brisbane (5 years), moved to Gympie (5 years), moved to Mt Isa (2 years), moved to Pomona (1 year), my parents moved to Cooroy (3 years) and then back to Gympie (still there) while I went to boarding school back in Brisbane (5 years).
3. I met my husband in a Brisbane Irish Pub on an evening when I was meant to be studying for something-or-other and he was meant to be out with mates chasing nurses in Ipswich.
4. I did gymnastics for 12 years while I was at school. I'm too old for it now so I've substituted it with pole dancing. It's the only exercise I can find that keeps me interested!
5. I like to use the full taxonomic classification (if I know it) when talking about plants eg. Cupaniopsis anacardioides. I think it makes me sound like I know important things!
6. I was in the August 2003 issue of Australian Country Style. My parents house was one of the featured homes. Here are some photos of it on my wedding day ...

My mum built the dry stone wall behind us.

We had a 'lighting technician' up-light most of the big trees in the yard!

This is the back verandah. The Eumundi Flower Lady did all the bouquets and the beautiful hanging clusters of flowers. She's regularly at the Eumundi markets on a Saturday morning.

The view off my parents back verandah, it's not something you ever get tired of.
