Locals

It's kind of funny what you discover when you have to madly rush out to test the paint that you picked at the last minute because the painter was meant to start on the roof but couldn't because of torrential flood rains ... the paint that you're now not sure you like because you haven't seen it any bigger than a postage stamp, and looking at it in the sample pot all on it's own is making you very worried ... the paint that you now can't change because even though the painter hasn't started he's still already purchased all the paint ... eeek!

The paint that thankfully looks great in large swaths on the side of the house with the other colours that the painter has purchased at your request ... thank god! (I'm not religious, but I have no other phrase to explain the level of relief I'm feeling right now).

Anyway ... the paint saga resulted in our chance meeting with some beautiful locals, so it would have been worth it even if the paint was a horrible disaster.

A King Parrot couple. The male is beautifully coloured and the female is all green until you see her wings and belly from below in flight.

A Pale-headed Rosella, part of a flock of about five or six.

Part of the attraction. I guess it did all start off as bird seed.

I just love these images. Just what I need today. I spend most of my time in the city in an office, or in my apartment, so all this greenery is perfectly wonderful!! thanks!

Glad the paint worked out!!
