Yes, yes, the birds are very nice ... now show us the paint!!

I'm sorry Ms Madeleine ... our last minute test section has been covered with lovely, fresh undercoat! I'll be sure to post pics as soon as the colour starts going on this week. I hope you can handle the suspense.

Can I temporarily substitute with some samples of our weekend warrior activities?

Removing the superfluous TV antenna in high winds and rain. The discarded antenna lies on my freshly hoed temporary vege garden. I'm busily trying to sort out how many of which vegetables we want, when they should go in, where they should be planted for best crop rotation results, how much space each variety needs, what's the best green manure, companion planting ... there's SO MUCH to think about! We also spent the first half of this morning in a fruitless search for some manure ... any manure. I'm forced to believe manure's not in season at the moment.

Heat gun and scraper action. I only nearly burned the house down three times.

The beautiful remnant confetti.

Ross the Painter is all about the details.

It's a long way up.

Glorious fresh undercoat ... it looks better already, but I (like Madeleine) still can't wait for the colour.

I made a start on a home for our girls. I hope our happy chickens will lay many eggs inside when it's finished. In case you're wondering, that's not quite the colour ... too green and fluorescent ... my sister in law said tutti-fruity, I agree.

Our naked former outhouse!

Just one small part of the complex, fiddly, irritating and just generally more time consuming than expected process of removing the verandah rails. They were too low, but they were original. I would have been unable to live at Toxteth if anyone had fallen off. The boy was unwilling to part with an original feature. The compromise involves removing the broomsticks, retaining the rails, replacing the broomsticks with the rails repositioned at the required height. So much easier said than done!

Another part ...

Still going ...

All gone ... until next time!

sorry Anna... our build starts in four weeks- my impatience is clearly showing through!
What i really meant was, "Anna, what a talented photographer you are, and so lucky to have such beautiful wildlife so close to your home. When you are ready to share your paint selection, I will be very pleased to see what you have chosen".
How uncouth!

No worries at all hunny, it made me laugh! Oh, how exciting for you ... and I know what you mean about impatience. Sometimes I too wish it was a virtue.

Ooooh I love a Painter mad for the details! Too many slap dash ones out there for my liking - cherish Ross with your life!

I cannot believe how far you have come along with this love of a project. I too have a love/hate relationship with the paint peeler.
Almost burned down my house in Austin.
You all are doing such a great job!
Good to visit with you.
