More finished pots

I've had a second round of pots come out of the stone wear firing Penny did last week. Unfortunately the little flat one wouldn't fit so it will have to wait till next time. Unloading the pots from the kiln is a little bit special. Glazes react to different temperatures and so pots with the same glaze can come out very differently depending on where the pots are placed in the kiln. So each time you see something come out from its final firing its a complete surprise. Another thing I love is that the pots are still a little bit warm, like unusually shaped, freshly laid eggs!

This one looked like this before it was fired.

Too much cobalt on this one has resulted in that kind of rough bubbly texture in the details ... I'll just have to do another one like it later.

This one was made last week, it's going on the shelf to be dried out to greenware and then fired for the first time.

Your pots turned out fantastic! I actually really like the little pot that had too much cobalt in it. The finish looks lovely. Lee :)

Gorgeous! You shouldn't ever divulge the errors, I thought it was lovely and was meant to look like that! Artistic license.... beautiful things often appear from our mistakes…:)
