The boy has gone up to see his Mum today, and I'm staying at home to complete some chores that I've been procrastinating over for a while now. The biggest being the drawings for the bathroom, en-suite and kitchen and future downstairs laundry and guest bathroom.
I'm more than a little dismayed at the fees that our local council gets away with charging! We have to pay $155 application fee and then another $84 per new fixture. It used to be per additional fixture, but they've changed the rules so that now, if you don't use the old fixture in exactly its original position it counts a new fixture! So under the new scheme we're putting in 11 "new" fixtures! Argh!
I'm taking the advice of Pat the Plumber and paying for everything now so that we don't have to deal with two application fees and price rises in the future; even though it may be a couple of years before we actually have the downstairs bathroom and laundry.
