Apparently Toxteth is an inner-city area of Liverpool in England, best known for the Toxteth riots that took place in July 1981. I find it strangely serendipitous that this date is exactly one year before I was born.
I was also interested to find out that Ringo Starr was born in Toxteth and lived a minute’s walk away in Admiral Grove from the age of 4 until he became a Beatle. I was even more interested to find out that Ringo is the voice of Thomas the Tank Engine. My husband (though he won't admit it in public) just happens to be Thomas' number one fan. He he he.
