Back Stairs!

It seems that temporarily living with friends in Melbourne has given the boy a bit of a motivational kick to get things happening faster. He worked like a demon last time he was home and got the study almost totally painted, and made a start on our back stairs.

Mr Brose demonstrating the extremely high level of protection afforded by our temorary barrier at the egress point created by the removal of our previous back stairs only two years ago (!)

The slow bits ... checking, measuring and checking again.

Trim, tidy and paint before ...

Up she goes!

Bearers ...

and joists! Only decking boards, stringers, treads and handrails to go!

We've also had some progress in the bathroom with partial tiling of the shower recess and the installation of the waterworks for our sinks. It will be so unbelieveably nice to be able to shower and wash our hands in receptacles other than the bath tub!

In celebration of our shiny new taps and almost plumbed in sinks, I went on a bit of a cleaning frenzy and got a lot of the random junk we were storing in the bathroom out ... I'd forgotten how big the bathroom really is and I'm super excited to get the finishing touches up in there. I promise to post progress pictures very soon.
