I'm super excited, but also a little sad. Renovations will happen faster, but we won't really get to enjoy them once everything is finished. Also, as we're now renovating for tenants rather than ourselves, a few corners are likely to be cut. The first being the gorgeous hexagonal tiles I was hoping to use in the shower. We've made a start laying out our 'it's-just-a-rental' (cheaper) tiles and they will look lovely, but just not quite the wow factor that I had originally imagined.
We'll be jetting down for a quick stay so that I can find the boy somewhere to live while he starts work. With that sorted, I'll be coming back for the slightly un-awesome period where the boy will fly back and forth between shifts to work on the house. This will be followed by the final move once Toxteth is tennant ready. I'm thinking my wardrobe needs weather related updating ... so for your enjoyment, 12 ways to tie a scarf via here.

That is exciting news - rug up in Melbourne in winter! You can always come back to your home and start renovating - again down the track. ;-)
Sad and exciting. A Melbourne sojourn will be super exciting. Whoever gets Toxteth to rent is a lucky lucky sod. But to not finish it in exactly the way you want - that will be hard. Hope it all goes smoothly.
