Terracotta clay + star anise = ...

We're supposed to be making sets of things in class at the moment and I decided to make tea bowls. I think I might be being a little to hard on myself considering how long I've been potting, but I was not too happy with the level of 'sameness' I achieved. Plus once these babies are fired they'll be way too small to be bothered to drink from! So they got used as guinea pigs to test my star anise impression theory. Maybe I can give them to people to put earrings in or something!

These little tea bowls are terrific! Even though they are a set, there is an individualness to each of them which is wonderful. I think your friends would be over the moon to receive such a beautiful, unique gift to hold their earrings.

I love the fact they they aren't all the same - it makes them unique and that is fantastic in every way!

if you think they're too small for regular tea - how about sake cups or green tea cups?

love the star anise idea!
