This is the Swamp bloodwood (Corymbia ptychocarpa) in our back yard. It's never flowered before and I'm thrilled that it finally has. We were expecting it to be the standard pale pink colour but it's surprised us with gorgeous red-pink blossoms. I'm posting it for my darlinglet who can't be here to see it for another couple of weeks and was worried he might miss it. Isn't it pretty?

I have the exact same bush/tree on my nature strip and I have never known the name of it (how ignorant of me!!), so thank you for enlightening me. It looks simply gorgeous.
